(Denham Springs) – Derek Babcock, 46, has announced his run for the Livingston Parish Council
When asked what it takes to be a good councilman Babcock said, “Leadership is influence and district 6 deserves a councilman who will do more than vote at a meeting, we need someone who will take time to understand the issues, engage in the process of creating solutions, and then advocate for the right solutions to fix the problems.
Issues such as drainage and flooding, infrastructure, and zoning will be major items on the agenda for the next council term. We must protect our property rights and our property values. What might be right for one district may not be right for district 6, and those points deserve to be well communicated and understood. I believe my knowledge and experience makes me the right person for the job. I’m asking for an opportunity to lead our district and advocate for solutions that make a difference.
